The operational analysis system set up by the CORIOLIS data center produces
temperature and salinity gridded fields by using profiles from the data base.
These profiles are for more than 80% acquired within the Argo program.
The system is based on an statistical estimation method (objective analysis).
This system allows to:
present a synthesis and a validation of the dataset,
provide a support for localized experience (cruises),
provide a validation source for operational models (MERCATOR)
observe seasonal cycle and interannaul variability.
This system is exploited by the CORIOLIS data center in real time. It is also
set up in delayed mode to produce re-analysis used for the qualification of the
ARGO floats or climatological studies. The version "V5" exploited since
July 2009 produces every wednesdays, temperature and salinity fields at 59
levels from 5 down to 2000 m. The levels: 10, 100, 300, 1000 and 1600 m are
presented by the "quick-look browser". You can also draw your maps with
"Live Access Server"(temporarily unavailable). The version "V5" also runs daily for the qualification of the dataset. |
