From January to end of July 2004, the new oceanographic vessel Beautemps-Beaupré,
will perform many oceanographic and hydrographic surveys.
During this period Beautemps Beaupré will cruise from Brest
to Creta and Suez and then from Suez to the Indian Ocean through the Red Sea.
Then she will come back to her home harbour Brest by the end of July 2004.
During
these 6 months, many data will be transmitted to the Coriolis Data Centre in
near-real time. These data will be quality controlled, archived and disseminated for the needs of the operational oceanography and
particularly for the needs of the models SOAP and MERCATOR.

During
all the surveys underway measurements will be performed and especially XBT
launches, thermosalinograph measurements (SBE21) and currents with two ACDP (RDI Ocean surveyor 38kHz et 150kHz).
All
the acquisitions and control procedures have been defined in close relationship
between the Coriolis and SHOM teams after assesment of the first evaluating
cruise (ETO) will help evaluating
